This new technology will cut virtually any material including stone, metals, plastic, laminates and glass. Operating under computer control, the machine utilizes an ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) water stream to produce parts ranging in thickness from 0.005 to 8 inches and tolerances as close as +/- 0.002 inches without heat or distortion.
Most abrasive waterjet cutting produces net shaped parts, so secondary finishing is
eliminated. In applications with a mirror finish or tapped hole, secondary
finishing is quick and easy because abrasive waterjets do not produce a re-cast
layer.
Waterjet shapecutting systems can cut virtually any material. Because
there is absolutely no mechanical
stress, heat distortion or heat-affected zone
(HAZ), material can be stacked to increase productivity. Setup and fixturing are
complete in just minutes. Because waterjets cut with a narrow kerf, parts can be
tightly nested or common-line cut so raw material usage is maximized. We will draw,
import, or scan in your part. You specify the material type, thickness and edge
finish. It's a simple route to quality parts, either cut blanks or fully
machined product.
